Italy is full of surprises for almost everybody. The best part of Italy is its hiking trails. You might have dreamt of Venice. Venice is the most romantic location in this world. If you are in Italy, don’t even dare to miss a visit to Rome, Venice, and Florence. The best time to visit Italy is the month of April-May and September-October.
Italy is not just picturesque sights and romantic places. There are numerous adventurous things to do in Italy. Hiking and cycling are the most sought-after in Italy. The avid backpackers and hiking lovers can never visit Italy just once.
Wondering the best places for Hiking in Italy? Here is the list of fantabulous hiking trails and camping location.
Best Hiking Trails in Italy
1. Alta Via
Alta Via is one of the most stunning hiking trails in the huge mountain range of the Dolomites. It offers you the adventure with the feel of an authentic village. The highest point is 2,752 meters. The peaks of Tofanam Pelmo and Civetta are the most famous peaks of Italy.
The mountain is located in northeast Italy. The Dolomites are beautiful mountain ranges with its photogenic and charismatic peaks. This is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Italy. It will take 10 days to complete the track. This is the best place for Camping and Hiking. Take a suitable camping tent with you if you want to have the best experience of camping.
The best time to visit here is July to September. The path is covered with snow in the months of December to February. This is not an easy hiking trail.
2. Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre is the most picturesque coastal trail of Italy. This 11 Km long coastal route is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This trail can be easily done in almost 7 hours.
You can enjoy the stunning views and delicious Italian food on your way. This coastal trail links five medieval villages. If you love Italian Cuisine, then the pasta and espresso is waiting for you to add flavor to your hiking experience. LA Sfinge is a beautiful camping location near the Cinque Terre Hiking trail. This is a perfect family friendly camping area. If you are planning to go with your loved one, don’t forget to take a suitable camping tent with you.
This is the easiest and the most famous hiking trail in Italy. You have the option to come back via train from your hiking session.

3. The Amalfi Coast
The spectacular footpath of the Amalfi coast is amazing hiking experience. This is popularly known as the path of Gods in Italy.
This trail is between Agirola and Positano. The best time to walk through these mountainsides is either in the morning or late in the evening. Make sure that you take a map or a guide as there are various little trails come on your way.
This is a popular destination for hiking holiday for the locals. You should choose to hike here on weekends if you love the crowd. There are a lot of steps between Montepertuso and Positano.

4. The Lake Como Hiking Trail
The lake Como Hiking trails are along the district of Lago di Como in Italy. The 10.5 Km long way between Colonno and Cadenabbia is a must place to explore. This is also known as the greenway trails of Italy.
This is a romantic adventure. The mountains are very beautiful and the panoramic views of lakes are quite relaxing. The best place to visit Lake Como Trail is during summers, before or after the snowfall.
This hiking trail is incredibly beautiful and mesmerizing. A night spent in the 2-person tent between the valleys is a perfect date with nature. The homes of celebrities at the coastlines will add a charismatic aura to this hiking experience.
5. The Viel Del Pan Path
This is the hiking trail at the famous mountain of Dolomites. The hikes are quite difficult. This is a place suitable for both Hiking and skiing.
If you are a non-hiker, you can still enjoy the view from the top with its ski facility. There are various food joints on the way. The highest peak is 2400 meter. You can enjoy the picturesque views of Marmolada Mountains.
The hiking trails start from the town of Canazei at the Belvedere lift. It ends at the Lake Fedaia. You can find the places for your overnight stay on the way. You can enjoy a romantic night date after an adventurous journey.

6. Sicily Hiking Trails
Sicily is the only active volcano in Europe. It erupts irregularly. This is a wonderful hiking destination. Don’t miss the spectacular sunset from the mountains of Sicily.
You have to take your best-hiking footwear, headgears, and lamps. Mount Etna is 11,000 feet above. There are other options available for you to reach the peak via bus or via cable car.
The Italian seaside town, La Rocca, Cefalu is the main attraction for visitors. This is perfect photogenic location. Be ready with your camera on this trail. You can relax at the beaches at the nature reserve, Vendicari.
7. Selvaggio Blu and Tuscany Trails
Sardinia is the most exotic island in the Mediterranean Sea. This hiking trail is chiefly enjoyed by the Mountaineers.
This trail takes you from Italy’s wildest coastlines. The stunning views of the sea are a perfect subliming experience in itself.
There are a number of short hiking trails in Tuscany. Most of them are not crowded. If you are an off-beater, vagabond, you will love the untouched beauty of these trails. The famous trails are Passo Del Cerreto Runde, Cala Violina, Grancia di Cuna, and Foce du Mosceta.

8. Monte Bianco and Monte Rosa
This hiking trail is located in the western Alps in northwest Italy. This is also known as the White Mountains. This is one of the long-distance trails in Italy. The Mount Rosa is the second highest mountains in the Alps. This is 4500 meters.
The dramatic glaciers and amazing views are worth seeing after the difficult hiking trails. The mountains are quite rich in ice formation. The best time to visit this hiking trail is during summers, but not the month of August.
