Florida just hits differently. There’s a reason they call it the Sunshine State, but it’s not just about the weather, it’s the vibe. The salty breeze, the endless palm trees, the way every sunset feels like it’s been painted just for you. Florida always surprised me in the best way. I honestly thought it would be all beaches and theme parks (which are amazing, don’t get me wrong), but once I got there, I realized this state is packed with little adventures in every corner.
1. Miami: Sun, style, and non-stop energy
The second I arrived in Miami, I felt it, this city doesn’t just have energy, it is energy. Bright art deco buildings, flashy sports cars zipping by, music spilling out from every corner. And then there’s Miami Beach, with its soft sands and turquoise water that somehow looks even better in real life.
I spent my mornings walking along Ocean Drive, watching the city wake up with coffee in hand. The afternoons were perfect. And the evenings? Let’s just say Miami knows how to party. From rooftop bars to salsa clubs, the nightlife here is unreal. But beyond the glitz, there’s also a creative side: Wynwood Walls was a total highlight for me, massive murals, cool street art, and such a fun, artsy atmosphere.
Miami Mini Bucket List:
- Wynwood Walls: I absolutely loved this spot! It’s super Instagrammable, colorful, and creative. Perfect for artsy photos.
- South Beach: Soaking up the sun here felt like living in a postcard.
- Ocean Drive: A must! The vibe is electric, especially at sunset.
- Millionaire’s Row Boat Tour: Such a fun way to see the celebrity mansions from the water.
- Little Havana: The Cuban coffee here? Life-changing! Plus, the culture is so vibrant.
Where to Eat in Miami:
- Joe’s Stone Crab: An institution! Their stone crab claws and key lime pie are iconic.
- Versailles: For the best Cuban food. Trust me, their Cuban sandwich is life-changing.
- The Salty Donut: Artisan donuts that are as Instagrammable as they are delicious.
- Coyo Taco: Affordable, fun, and the tacos hit the spot after a beach day.
2. Orlando: Theme park capital of the world
Stepping into Orlando felt like stepping straight into a childhood dream. Even before you enter the parks, there’s this contagious excitement in the air. I went full Disney mode, of course, and the moment I saw Cinderella’s Castle, I swear my heart skipped a beat.
But Orlando isn’t just Disney. Universal Orlando had me literally screaming (VelociCoaster is no joke!), and EPCOT completely surprised me with its incredible food and culture from around the world. Pro tip? Spend a day just eating and drinking your way through EPCOT’s World Showcase, you won’t regret it!
What I love about Orlando is that it brings out the kid in you, no matter your age. The parades, the fireworks, the characters, it’s pure magic. And honestly, the memories you make there stick with you long after you’ve left.
Orlando Bucket List:
- Magic Kingdom Fireworks: The castle show? Pure magic. I teared up!
- VelociCoaster: This ride had me screaming and laughing at the same time.
- EPCOT World Showcase: I loved “traveling” from country to country in one afternoon.
- Disney Springs: Such a fun place to shop, eat, and just enjoy the vibe.
- Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Butterbeer and magic spells, I was living my best life!

3. Daytona Beach: Coastal fun and racing vibes
Daytona Beach surprised me in the best way. There’s this laid-back, old-school beach town vibe that I absolutely loved. The wide sandy beaches are perfect for a morning stroll, and yes, you can actually drive on the beach here! It felt so wild and fun to cruise along the shoreline with the windows down and the salty breeze in my hair.
Of course, I couldn’t miss the Daytona International Speedway. Even if you’re not a hardcore racing fan, seeing it in person is impressive. The energy is contagious, especially during events. But even on quieter days, you can do a track tour, which is super cool.
And when you’re ready to wind down, there’s the Daytona Beach Boardwalk with classic arcades, ice cream shops, and that nostalgic coastal charm that makes you feel like a kid again.

- Driving on the Beach: It felt so freeing and fun, totally unique!
- Daytona International Speedway: Whether you love racing or not, it’s thrilling.
- Boardwalk and Pier: Old-school fun with arcades and ocean views.

4. Miami Beach: More than just a beach day
I know Miami Beach deserves its own spotlight. It’s not just an extension of Miami, it’s its own little paradise. The sand here is like powdered sugar, and the water is this unreal shade of blue that makes you want to stay forever.
I spent hours just lounging by the water, people-watching, and soaking up the sun. But what I really loved was the Art Deco Historic District. I did a self-guided walking tour, snapping photos of the pastel-colored buildings and vintage signs. And of course, the sunsets at South Pointe Park were next-level stunning.
Miami Beach Bucket List:

- South Pointe Park: My favorite sunset spot, hands down.
- Sunrise on the Beach: So peaceful and beautiful, it’s worth the early wake-up.

- Lincoln Road: Outdoor shopping and dining with the best vibes.
5. The Florida Keys: Tropical paradise road trip
Driving the Overseas Highway through the Florida Keys felt like something out of a movie. Turquoise waters on both sides, island hopping from Key Largo to Key West, it’s an adventure all on its own.
Key West had me instantly charmed. The colorful houses, quirky shops, and sunset celebrations at Mallory Square were highlights of my trip. I also made time for a visit to the Southernmost Point of the U.S. for that classic photo op.
And let’s not forget the snorkeling! Exploring the coral reefs and swimming alongside tropical fish was such a dream. The water here is crystal clear, and the marine life is absolutely incredible.
Florida Keys Bucket List:
- Overseas Highway Drive: One of the prettiest road trips ever.
- Southernmost Point Photo: Because it’s a must!
- Snorkeling Adventure: I felt like I was in a tropical aquarium.

6. The Everglades: Wild and unforgettable
If you want to feel like you’ve stepped into another world, visit the Everglades. The airboat ride was one of the coolest things I’ve done, zooming through sawgrass marshes while spotting alligators (yes, actual wild alligators!) and exotic birds.
I loved how raw and untamed it felt. It’s such a unique experience, and it really made me appreciate Florida’s wild side. The Everglades are peaceful in their own way, and you’ll leave with a new respect for nature.

7. NASA Kennedy Space Center: Out-of-this-world experience
Visiting the Kennedy Space Center felt like stepping into a childhood dream, but better. The second I walked in and looked up at the massive rockets, I got chills. There’s just something mind-blowing about standing next to machines that have literally been to space.
I spent way more time here than I expected because there’s so much to see and experience. The reveal of the Space Shuttle Atlantis was unforgettable, and the Shuttle Launch Experience had my heart racing in the best way. If you can, time your visit with a rocket launch, it’s incredible!
Kennedy Space Center Bucket List:
- Space Shuttle Atlantis: Absolutely surreal seeing it up close.
- Shuttle Launch Experience: Felt like I was really going to space!
- Rocket Garden: Perfect for photos and history lovers.

8. Tampa Bay: Sunsets, culture, and coastal charm
Tampa genuinely surprised me in the best way possible. From the bustling Riverwalk to the historic streets of Ybor City, Tampa feels like a city full of stories. I loved starting my mornings walking along the waterfront, and spending afternoons soaking up sunshine at Clearwater or St. Pete Beach.
And of course, there’s Busch Gardens Tampa Bay for my adrenaline fix! But my favorite moment was watching the sun melt into the Gulf of Mexico at Clearwater Beach, painting the sky in the dreamiest shades of pink and orange.

- Tampa Riverwalk: Loved starting my mornings here, so scenic!
- Ybor City: The history and culture were so cool to explore.

I have been to Florida many times already and I like going there just because it is literally summer all year round. One thing I hate is hurricanes during the summer. This is why I avoid going there during summer time.

I’ve lived in Florida for 10 years, and I’ll have to admit I’ve never been to St. Augustine. I’ve never been skydiving. And I haven’t been to all the beaches. In fact, I’m not a Floridian at all. It’s way too hot and I’m so ready to move. However, Sanibel Island is the perfect beach. The Daytona Race Track is so worth the price. And Miami is definitely party ready.
I Have an upcoming trip! well actually a permanent trip , i’m moving to tampa next year cant wait to do all these fun activites you have on the list ! 🙂

I spent a couple of years living in Florida and I miss it all the time. There’s so much to do there, and even the theme parks are fantastic for adults. Though most of my time was spent in the Orlando area, I got to do a bit of exploring and love all of these places.

Love all your pictures! Especially that last one! Been to Florida a handful of times – flown twice and driven once. Been to a few different parts, Miami is definitely a highlight! Never actually been to Disney while I’m there, people always say its good but I’m not an amusement park person myself. Love to just eat good food in the area, and of course you have to visit the beach!

We just visited Florida in May. It was my third time. I enjoy the theme parts, but I loved my visit to St. Augustine many years ago. I think there’s so much to see besides the parks.

We visited a few places in Florida. Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Key West. Each had its own character with Miami and Key West being our top places.
