INTRODUCTION
This post is my honest review of my experience flying with Neos Airline.
I flew with the fairly new Neos Airline this past summer on a roundtrip from NYC > Milan and back. To be honest, I was a little skeptical to book the flight because it is a newer airlines and there weren’t many online reviews.
One of the main reasons I went with them was because it was the cheapest direct flight to Italy for my travel dates. Keep on reading for my review of Neos Airline.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
My customer service experience with Neos Airline was pretty good. The check-in staff at JFK airport was very friendly and efficient. Not much was going on during the flight as food service was limited, so I’d say it was good too.
My baggage arrived on time and without any damages both times. I point that out because like many, I have a fear of losing my bags as I have heard one too many lost-baggage horror stories. Nothing worst than reaching an international destination with no clothes to wear!
PRO TIP: Get yourself one of these airtags and throw them in your luggage. That way you can keep track of your bags during your journey. Gives you peace of mind!
INFLIGHT EXPERIENCE
Luckily, my friend and I were able to get an entire middle row to ourselves which was really nice as we were able to get a good night of sleep during our 8+ hours red eye flight. On my way back, I paid for an upgraded seat to their business class. Umm, yea I was disappointed! The whole point of upgrading my seats was to get comfy seats to get some much needed sleep. Unfortunately, Neos Airline’s business class seats are poorly built, they really just reclined to an awkward position. In short, I personally would not recommend upgrading to their business class if you are looking for comfier seats.
I enjoyed my barbeque chicken with rice for dinner and the chocolate dessert of course (can’t recall what was served on the flight back home). We were also served a light breakfast before landing which was great. Overall, meal service was pretty decent.

LUGGAGE
My ticket included 1 carry on and 1 checked baggage weighing 50 lbs. I think this was pretty good considering it is a budget airline and most of the low-fare tickets don’t allow a free checked bag these days. I find that ridiculous but that is a conversation for another day.
CONCLUSION
Overall, I’d rate my experience with Neos Airline a 5/10. I was able to find a decently priced direct flight to my destination during peak season and that’s why I flew with them. While my customer service experience was good, the inflight experience was subpar. I’d say go for it if you are looking for an inexpensive flight, don’t expect any bells and whistles, and plan to travel with light luggage.
I also signed up for marketing emails and have seen roundtrip flights to Europe for under $500. So if budget is a top priority, definitely check out Neos Airline.
