This post is a 3 day itinerary for an amazing trip to Orlando, FL.
If you’re anything like me, you probably think of Orlando and instantly picture theme parks, roller coasters, and Mickey Mouse ears. And while that’s definitely a huge part of it (trust me, I loved every second of the parks!)I’m never bored of them, and I live here.. But Orlando has so much to offer you. There’s so much more to Orlando than just rides and fairy tales.
When I planned my trip, I wanted the best of both worlds: the iconic thrills and the hidden gems. Let me tell you, Orlando totally delivered. In just three days, I managed to pack in so many unforgettable experiences, from magical moments in the parks to amazing food and fun little adventures around the city.

THINGS TO KNOW- HOW DO I PLAN A 3 DAY ITINERARY FOR ORLANDO
Three days might feel short, but you can absolutely cover a lot of ground with a good plan! Start by picking one theme park you’re most excited about (seriously, don’t try to do them all, you’ll thank me later). Then, leave space for exploring the city and nearby attractions. Orlando has so much charm beyond the parks!
I found it helpful to book tickets and tours in advance to save time and stress. Plus, having a rough itinerary kept me on track without feeling rushed. Flexibility is key though, if you discover a cute café or a cool little shop, give yourself permission to enjoy the moment!
When is the best time to visit Orlando?
From my experience, Trust me, I know the weather here.. the best times to visit Orlando are spring (March to May) or fall (September to early November). The weather is warm but not too intense, and the crowds are way more manageable.
Summer is fun if you love that full-on Florida sunshine, but it can get super hot and crowded, especially at the parks. If you go in winter, the holiday decorations are magical, but expect more visitors. Spring felt perfect for me: blue skies, light breezes, and all the attractions open!

How to get around Orlando?
Orlando is pretty spread out, so I definitely recommend renting a car if you want to explore beyond the theme parks. Having a car gave me the freedom to hop between neighborhoods and visit spots like Winter Park and the outlets without relying on public transport.
That said, for the parks, many hotels offer shuttle services, and ride-shares like Uber and Lyft work really well. If you’re sticking mainly to Disney or Universal, you can actually get by without a car, but for my mixed itinerary, driving was a lifesaver!
What to pack for a trip to Orlando?
Pack for sunshine and fun, but always be prepared for surprise rain showers (Florida weather loves to keep us guessing!). I lived in comfy shorts, light dresses, and sneakers since I was walking so much every day.
Don’t forget sunscreen, it’s a must, even on cloudy days. A portable fan and reusable water bottle were total game changers for me in the parks. And if you’re planning water activities or visiting the springs, definitely bring a swimsuit and quick-dry towel!
What to do with 3 days in Orlando?
Here’s the fun part! Day one is all about the theme park magic (I went all in!). But days two and three? That’s when I really got to explore Orlando’s local side.
Besides the parks, there are amazing things to do like airboat rides in the Everglades, checking out quirky museums, and visiting charming neighborhoods like Winter Park. I even squeezed in some shopping (because, well, when in Orlando!).
Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, foodie, or nature lover, Orlando has something for everyone.
Where to eat in Orlando?
Honestly, I was blown away by the food scene in Orlando! It’s so much more than just theme park snacks (although, don’t skip the Mickey-shaped pretzels!).
For breakfast, Se7en Bites is an absolute gem. I had the most decadent breakfast sandwich and a giant homemade biscuit that I still dream about. If you love brunch vibes, don’t miss The Glass Knife, their pastries are pure heaven.
Lunch at East End Market was perfect for a chill foodie experience. It’s a local market with multiple vendors, and I tried everything from farm-fresh salads to amazing craft coffee.
For dinner, I fell in love with The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park. It’s a gastropub with creative dishes and incredible cocktails. And if you’re looking for something casual and fun, Yellow Dog Eats is a quirky spot with awesome sandwiches and a cool vibe.
Any other tips for visiting Orlando?
Yes! A few little things I wish I knew before my trip:
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Florida heat is no joke, especially in the parks.
- Download park apps ahead of time, they’ll save you tons of time with wait times and mobile orders.
- Don’t over-schedule. Leave room for spontaneous fun (some of my favorite moments happened when I wasn’t rushing around!).
- Bring an external charger, you’ll use your phone a lot for photos, maps, and tickets.
STEAL MY 3 DAY ITINERARY FOR ORLANDO
Day 1 – Theme Park Magic!
Go all in and pick your favorite park. I chose Universal Orlando, and it was epic. From the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Butterbeer all day!) to adrenaline-pumping rides like the VelociCoaster, it was a blast. If you’re a Disney lover, Magic Kingdom is, of course, the dream. Whichever park you choose, go early, stay late, and soak in every magical moment.
Pro tip: Book express passes if your budget allows, it made a huge difference in how much I was able to do in one day!
Day 2 – Explore Orlando’s Local Side
Time to slow it down a bit and see what Orlando offers beyond the parks. I started my day in Winter Park, strolling around the farmers market and enjoying a boat tour on the lakes. It felt like a peaceful little escape.
In the afternoon, I headed to ICON Park for the giant observation wheel, the views are fantastic! I also loved visiting the Orlando Science Center, especially if you’re into fun, interactive exhibits.
Wrap up your day with dinner in Mills 50 District, where you’ll find tons of delicious Asian cuisine and funky murals around every corner.
Day 3 – Nature & Adventure Day
For the last day I recommend enjoying Florida’s natural beauty. I booked an airboat ride through the Everglades, and seeing alligators and tropical birds in the wild was such a thrill!
After that, I spent the afternoon at Wekiwa Springs State Park. The crystal-clear water was so refreshing, and it was the perfect place to unwind and reflect on an amazing trip.
If you’re up for one last adventure, check out the Orlando Premium Outlets for a bit of shopping before you go! You’ll walk a lot, so be ready!
