This post is about the best family-friendly hotels in Orlando: where to stay and why we loved them
I’ll be honest, planning a family trip to Orlando sounded a little stressful at first. But, when my family comes to Orlando we all like to try different hotels and experiences. You know how it goes: kids want to do everything, parents want to relax just a little, and everyone wants it to be magical. And Orlando? Let’s just say it doesn’t make choosing easy. There are SO many hotels to pick from, and every one of them looks amazing.
But after quite a few family trips (and more hotel hopping than I care to admit), I’ve finally figured out which hotels in Orlando really deliver for families. I’m talking about places where you walk in and immediately feel like, ahhh yes, this is going to be fun. Where your kids are entertained, and you don’t have to sacrifice comfort or style. So let me tell you about the spots we stayed at, what made them special, and why I think they’re some of the best family-friendly hotels in Orlando.
I now offer a custom vacation planning service. Message me to find your dream hotel
Margaritaville Resort Orlando
Okay, picture this: bright colors, palm trees swaying, music playing by the pool, and the kids already running toward the splash pad. That was our welcome to Margaritaville Resort, and honestly? It set the tone for the whole trip.
This place is pure vacation energy. The rooms are spacious and beachy, with the cutest island vibes. We stayed in one of the cottages, which felt like our own little home. The kitchen made breakfasts super easy (because let’s be real, eating out every meal with kids? Not always a dream).
And oh my gosh, the Island H2O Water Park right next door? HUGE hit. Lazy river, water slides, splash zones, the kids didn’t want to leave. Meanwhile, I was living my best life with a frozen drink by the pool. Honestly, it felt like we all got to do what we wanted.
Family Tip: Rent a cabana if you’re doing a full water park day, totally worth it.
Marriott’s Grande Vista
Now this one is perfect for longer stays or when you just want space to spread out. We stayed here on a slightly slower-paced trip, and it was exactly what we needed.
The villas have full kitchens, laundry machines (yes, I actually did laundry on vacation, and yes, it saved my sanity), and plenty of room for the kids to play without jumping all over our bed.
What I loved most? The four pools, including a quiet one for adults when you want a moment of zen. They also have an activity center with crafts and games, so when the Florida afternoon showers rolled in, we weren’t stuck staring out the window. Click here.
Highlight Moment: One rainy afternoon, we made tie-dye shirts at the activity center, and now my youngest still wears hers proudly like a travel badge.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Oh my Disney heart. If you’ve got little ones who live and breathe The Lion King, Little Mermaid, or Cars, this place is magic.
From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were in a movie. Giant statues of Simba and Ariel, themed rooms with colorful murals, and pools that feel like mini water parks.
We stayed in a Finding Nemo family suite (complete with kitchenettes and two bathrooms, thank you, Disney), and the kids were absolutely in awe. And the Skyliner? Game changer. It’s basically a flying gondola that gets you to the parks with zero stress. Click here.
Parent Win: We didn’t even need a car for this part of the trip.

Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando
If you’re doing Universal Studios, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s got this laid-back tropical vibe, with palm trees and tiki torches, but still super kid-friendly.
The best part? Early park access AND Universal Express Unlimited passes are included. That meant we skipped the long lines and hit up all the Harry Potter rides without waiting an hour. The kids were over the moon, and honestly, so was I.
The pool is lagoon-style, the staff is super friendly, and there are movie nights under the stars. One night, we grabbed snacks and towels and watched a movie poolside. It was simple but felt so special. Click here.
Little Detail I Loved: They gave the kids tiny leis when we checked in. Small touch, but it made them feel like VIPs.
Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa
This one surprised me in the best way. It’s more of a condo-style stay, but with resort perks. We had a two-bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the pirate ship pool (yes, a literal pirate ship in the middle of the pool!), and the kids thought it was the coolest thing ever.
The full kitchen meant we could make snacks and quick meals, and having two bathrooms was a serious win. Plus, there’s an on-site spa, so I even snuck in a little me-time. Click here.
Bonus Perk: There’s an outlet mall right next door. So yes, I also snuck in a little shopping.
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World
This is for when you want to splurge a little, and feel totally pampered.
We booked this for a special occasion, and from the moment we arrived, it was luxury with a capital L. But not in a stiff, don’t-touch-anything way. The staff was warm, the rooms were gorgeous, and the kids club? Incredible.
They had character breakfasts, water slides, a lazy river, and an adults-only pool for when I needed a breather. It truly felt like every detail was thought through for families. Click here for the hotel.
My Favorite Moment: Floating in the lazy river while the kids zoomed down the slides, knowing everyone was happy, fed, and having fun. That’s a mom win.
